Welcome to The Simple Spruce Studio Blog!

Hello, my name is Becky Manning for those that do not know! I am a wife, a mother of three amazing girls, and I am a child of God. I was born and raised in a small town in Missouri, called St. Clair with a population of about 4,700. I am married to a wonderful man named Troy, and together we have 3 adult daughters, we are a blended family. Our oldest is Drew Nicole, who is my biological daughter. Next in line is Morgan Rae, and then the baby is Tyler Jo, who are both Troy's biological daughters.

God knew what he was doing when he brought us all together because we have just all fit together so well from day one. Don't get me wrong, it hasn't been all roses and rainbows, but we have all worked together to get through tough moments, with God at the forefront of it all.

Troy and I came together later in life. I was 42 and Troy was 46. We both grew up in the same town and have always known of each other, but never knew each other. We both went to the same church, and always brought our girls with us. One Sunday morning, Troy and his girls were sitting behind Drew and I, and the Pastor asked that we turn and greet with the people behind us, and that is how it all started.

Before Troy and I met, I had been a single mom for 18 years. It has always been just Drew and I. It was not always easy, but I made it work. I was determined to do it on my own and not have to live with my

parents. Don't get me wrong, they helped out at times, but I knew i wanted to give Drew a home of our own. I had to work full time and Drew went to a babysitter and Daycare until she started school. I had always rented apartments or a small house, alot of them were a little less than desirable, but it was a home for us.

I would buy furniture pieces from flea markets, and resale shops, and I would paint them and fix them up to make them work for us! I would definitely have to get creative with things. I have even been known to pick up items off the side of the road that were set out for trash.

Awww.. Who am I kidding, i still do that and Troy hates it . I have always been able to see potential in items that most people would disregard. So when I think about it, I have always taken ordinary and worn out finds and Spruced them up to give them new life.

Years ago if someone would have told me that I would be doing live crafts on Facebook and sharing my ideas on upcycling and repurposing with like-minded people, I would have called them crazy.

I am truly blessed that I can share my crazy ideas with all of you. Thank you all so much for your support and being a part of The Simple Spruce Studio. ❤

I love the story of how your little family came together. My fiance and I have 7 children between the 2 of us, met almost 5 years ago at church as well.
